Christmas event at bird sanctuary
MANISTEE -- The Michigan Audubon will host a Chickadee Christmas from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lake Bluff Bird Sanctuary.
There will be guided birding walks, children's crafts and backyard birding presentations. Admission is free.
The Lake Bluff Bird Sanctuary is two miles north of Manistee at 2890 Lakeshore Road.

Historical Society plans holiday party
OLD MISSION -- The Old Mission Peninsula Historical Society will have its Christmas party at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the American Legion Post, 4007 Swaney Road, Old Mission. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Guests are asked to bring a dish to pass. The Tongue Family Musicians will provide entertainment.

Pavilions veterans to be honored
TRAVERSE CITY -- Yagle Brothers Marine Corps League Detachment 165 will honor veterans currently residing at Grand Traverse Pavilions.
Veterans will be honored at a holiday luncheon beginning at noon Saturday at the Pavilions. An American flag will be presented to each veteran.
