Church changes Saturday service
TRAVERSE CITY -- Because of the Fourth of July holiday, First Congregational Church's Saturday service has been rescheduled for Friday.
The service will begin at 6:30 p.m., this week only, at the church, 6105 Center Road. It will include some traditional patriotic hymns and songs. The public is welcome.
Lake Ann Lions serve pancakes
LAKE ANN -- The Lake Ann Lions Club will sponsor a pancake breakfast on Sunday.
The meal will be served from 8 a.m. to noon at the Old Almira Township Hall. The public is invited.
Senior Center offers tennis lessons
TRAVERSE CITY -- The Traverse City Senior Center is now offering Tennis Lessons for adults 50 and older. Local tennis enthusiast, Roy Barrett will conduct these weekly classes at the courts located at the Senior Center, 801 E. Front St. Tennis lessons are held from 8 to 10 a.m., every Thursday, beginning July 2.
The cost is $20 for eight sessions with a discount available for Senior Center members. Players need to provide their own racket and comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear. Tennis balls will be provided. Reservations are required.
